The Yarí is a long Amazonian river inflowing from the Caquetá river, in Colombia. It lies in the middle of the jungle, practically untouched by people other than indigenous. An 8 hour boat ride upstream through Yarí and Mesay would take us to the base of Tepuys, or the table top mountains, of the Serranía del Chiribiquete National Natural Park. This period of time allowed me to reflect on the shapes, textures and colors that the completely crystalline waters reflected. As the boat cruised, we disrupted the tranquility in the reflection of the water, realizing our passage had impact. At the edge of both sides lied trunks of fallen trees that had been washed away by the current during the rainy seasons, and now play with the the small waves we created. The images became the mirages of the Yarí.
